Maximum
Muscle, Minimum Fat - The Science of Physical Perfection
by Ori Hofmekler explains in great detail the wonders of why
and how our amazing bodies can adapt and redesign
themselves. Mr. Hofmekler's book delves deep into the
natural chemical processes required to increase muscle mass
and decrease body fat levels, without introducing any
additional outside chemicals.
As you read this short e-book of 124
pages, you begin to realize that the human body is capable
of so much more than we currently imagine. It becomes
obvious that when we allow our own bodies to run the
biological systems with which they are equipped -- anything
is possible! Whether you are a world-class athlete or just
want to be a healthy well-functioning human being, this book
explains that it is not just what you eat or how you
exercise that matters, but that the timing of these events
is everything!
Mr. Hofmekler is very passionate and
extremely knowledgeable about the human body. This was very
evident during my interview with him, which seemed at times
as if I was taking a biology class by phone. The book is
full of technical details, making it a challenge to read at
times, but the information and knowledge gained is well
worth the time invested to gain a new understanding.
A few things that really hit home with me while speaking
with Mr. Hofmekler:
1. "We are living in a
virtual world" and "our bodies may be losing the
ability to adapt" to new demands or even to the demands
we currently may be facing.
2. Our current eating and
exercise patterns (or, in some cases, the lack thereof) is
"short-circuiting our own (hormonal, enzyme and
cellular) systems", which are already biologically
designed to maintain our bodies in top condition.
3. Although the basic primal
needs and processes are the same for everyone, each
individual has slightly different requirements and no plan
can be the same for all.
4. Our bodies can redesign
themselves through the "recycling process", and
this process must be allowed to run completely or we will
not benefit nearly as much from spending hours at the gym or
eating properly and on time!
5. When someone is on a schedule
where sleep deprivation is possible, such as a firefighter,
a diet of periodic small protein meals (15-20 grams) with a
low-glycemic carbohydrate (~10 grams) will keep them more
alert and ready to respond at need.
6. Increasing the amount of protein
in each meal decreases the amount of protein utilized by the
body. The optimum amount of protein that the body will
process is 15-20 grams at one time, with amounts in excess
of that decreasing the utilization by up to 60%.
The "recycling process" described by Mr. Hofmekler
involves a period of under-eating followed by a period of
over-eating, mimicking the natural patterns of mankind prior
to the introduction of farming and industrialization to our
society. This feeding cycle, successfully implemented and
combined with proper exercise routines should allow the body
to operate at peak levels and you to enjoy optimum health.
If you are still searching for the way to a perfect body
with great health, then Ori Hofmekler's book will show you
the way. It has many helpful tips for implementing his
scientifically-backed theories and ideas. My journey into
the "warrior" way of living begins now!
